Європейський Союз та Україна переживають наймасштабнішу міграційну кризу з часів Другої світової війни, кількість переселенців і їхній вплив на приймаючі країни значно перевищує масштаби 2015–2016 рр. Водночас війна ще не закінчилась, і потоки можуть тривати. Станом на 14 березня 2023 р. Управління Верховного комісара ООН у справах біженців (УВКБ ООН) зареєструвало 8 113 170 біженців з України по всій Європі [9].
