On February 24, 2022, Russia started a full-scale attack on Ukraine, starting the biggest conflict in Europe since World War II. Due to Russia’s invasion, the EU, the United States, and others implemented a number of sanctions on Russia. Sanctions have included constraints on Russia’s financial sector, its banking system, and its coal and oil exports, in addition to wider export laws.
